We went to the zoo today and Had a great time. Lucas was way into the animals and most all of them were visible. Here are a few pic's from the day.

King of the Castle!!

Lucas got a castle from some good friends of ours parents. They gave him a smaller little tikes play gym last year and now this. It is so nice of them to pass us there grand kids toys that they don't use anymore. Lucas is in love with his castle. Even the dogs will go in it. he goes inside and calls "pearl. pear, hugo" of course it's more like "bowl, ooogo" but they know what he means. I'm sure there will be a lot of pic's in and around the castle to come. He loves being in the back yard. We got him a picnic table the next day after the castle and i had just picked him up a crafts man kids tool bench a couple days before from a garage sael f0or $5! So he has all of that plus a couple big bouncy ball, a set of golf clubs, a basket ball hoop, and a hammock. So I guess whats not to love. all we need now is some patio furniture for mama and dada so we can be a lil more comfortable while were out there all day.

Ya I guess I didn't take any pictures the whole time we were in Oregon except for a few on my phone. so I guess thats all your gonna get.
The trip it's self was pretty messy. On the way to Oregon we got stuck in Cheyenne Wyoming from about 11pn until 1:30 in the afternoon the next day due to a snowstorm. that threw a kink in our plans! We had planned to drive straight through or at least not stop that soon, or stay that long. Lucas did great in the car, we stopped often and let him and the dogs play. Aside from our unexpected stay in Wyoming it was pretty smooth. Here are the two pictures I took on our drive out.

Lucas felt right at home in Oregon and enjoyed being on the go all the time. He did well with the adjustment to the new location, and was a trooper with every kink i threw his way. He loves loves loves his papas and nanas! Well he loves all the family, but he looks for his papa's and nanas daily still at our house. It's pretty hard having to explain that one so often. I am hoping someone got some pictures that I'll be able to post and have of Lucas with family since I failed.

He got to have some time away from mama and dada while in Eugene. He spent time with papa and nana Baker and papa and nana Westerkamp. Both houses got a through Lucas beating. I think he did pretty good but things just happen with a little one. He did well with all the dogs and really enjoyed seeing everyone. Lucas's vocabulary was growing like crazy while we were there too, He was spouting out new words and even some sentences every day.

The day before we were supposed to leave Lucas was not doing very well. He crawled up behind me on the couch and just went to sleep in the middle of the day. I decided he needed to go see a doctor as he was sicker than I'd ever seen him before. So Uncle John, Aunt Taylor and my self all took him to urgent care where I found out he had a double ear infection. So I canceled our flights home for the next morning and did what I could to help the lil man feel better. It was horrible, we have been very lucky with Lucas he is a healthy kid. seeing him hurting so bad was terrible. Here is a picture from when he fell asleep on the couch that day.

So with that happening we knew we had to change plans...
While I was still trying to figure out how the rest of our trip was going to play out. My grandma Teresa ended up being hospitalized due to some kind of an asthma attack, well they never really gave her a straight answer on exactly what happened but the bottom line is she quit breathing and had to be taken in via ambulance and spent I believe 3 days in the hospital. So after they got out of the hospital they drove back to Oregon from Arizona. Lucas and I were going to go there originally but with everything that happened this ended up worknig better for everyone. Lucas and i stayed with them while they were in town. He didn't break anything that i know of, however he did pee on there carpet ... twice! Yikes!

During the time between gran and gramp getting to Oregon Easter came along. That morning the Easter bunny had left Lucas some cool gifts. (thank you papa and nana) We went to Cresswell to my aunt carols for dinner. Lucas did great hunting the eggs and other goodies they got for him. Then we went back to my dad and barbs house and ate again. It was a nice Easter!

I know there is a lot I left out and with my lack of pictures this is a horrible post but i guess that will have to do. If anyone has any pictures they can email me I will gladly add them.

The last day we were in town my dad thought it woudl be fun to take Lucas and I to a ducks football practice. He was right! I loved watching them and Lucas did pretty well. He slept through part of it, but he did watch quite a bit too. I even had to do some fancy footwork to get Lucas out of the way of a receiver catching the football. We were right on the sidelines. I wish we could do that more often. Thanks dad for the great idea we enjoyed it a lot! On our way out of the practice we saw Coach Bellotti on the sidelines. I got star struck and kept walking but my dad shook his hand and told him good luck. Then when we were a ways down the field I said "I should see if he'd take a picture with Lucas" So I went bakc and asked him and he was very nice and even went along with it when my dad handed him Lucas. i don't think he was expecting that one, lol. Lucas says "Go DUCKS" but He had just woken up from his little nap and wasn't buying it when I asked him to say it. Oh also this is kind of funny. At the end of the practice Coach Kelly pulled the guys in to the middle of the field and was talking to them. there were a lot of people in this building and you could only here coach Kelly and probably a pin drop. Anyway Lucas was napping and decided to wake up ... he started to wine (quietly) so I about panicked trying to keep him quiet. Pacing the sidelines to keep him quiet. Honestly I was heading straight for the door, but Lucas decided to spare me the embarrassment and keep it down. I bet my heart skipped as few beats though. Here are the pic's of Lucas with Bellotti. I sure wish i had taken some of him with his papa at the practice.

So after practice Dad took us to Mucho Gusto and Uncle John met us there. We had a nice lunch headed back to the house got Lucas ready to fly, checked out uncle johns new tattoo! Barb came home and they took us to the airport. It was quite the scene to watch me try to handle two bags a carry on and a baby. My dad walked me in but I forgot you have to drag the dang things to security now and told him we'd be fine once we were in line. We managed and made it to our gate. We got an extra seat next to me on both flights which was great. If I had to keep him on my lap the whole time it woudl have been a horrible flight I'm sure. The take off's and landings were very rough but we made it home. Here is a pic of Lucas sitting in his own seat on the plane ... and ya he has a sucker, i was trying anything to keep him happy!

Lucas was walking around with his dada's slippers on. He loves to wear our shoes! Really he does quite well, maybe he will be a future cross country skier.

Lucas was brushing his teeth after bath time and saw me pull my hair in a pony tail and wanted to play with my ponytail holders so i let him and then he was trying to put his hair up so i helped him out a lil. I honestly feel bad posting these. But they are just two cute!

We spent our evening over at our friends house with there family. They have been so kind as to adopt us in as family inviting us for Thanksgiving and now Christmas. I again forgot to get my camera out (I'm getting really bad at remembering to take pic's) But here is a video of Lucas being a goof for everyone. He doesn't not mind meeting new people he just goes for it all out.

We had a great Christmas this year. It was sooo much fun watching Lucas get so excited with every little thing. He actually looks very serious in most of the pictures I took, I guess he felt the need to get down to business and open all the gifts. He was spoiled by all! He got Lots of duck gear, which he loves to wear. Some super stylin other outfits, some Chuck Taylors, books, puzzles, crayons and coloring books, lots of toys all kinds, a basket ball hoop, two wooden trains from his great grandparents (I thought that was funny), and a drum set. He has so many new things to play with! He keeps momma busy picking it all up! He loves the drums. I keep them put away because they are for older kids, but He usually gets to play them a little every day. The video has a bunch of him playing the drums. He just took right to it and loves them. I even got one picture that is great, I figure i better hang on to it in case he becomes a drummer!

12 days of Christmas

Lucas's Papa and Nana sent him 12 days of Christmas this year. It was really neat to have something for him to open every day. This was such a great and thoughtful idea! I don't have it all on video or pictures, but i do have this video of one of the gifts. He loves this guitar and is constantly walking around with it just dancing up a storm. Day one Lucas got a tube on M&M's and was so excited I think it may still be his favorite gift! He screams and dances when i give him 1 M&M. it cracks me up! Plus for probably a week after that everything he opened he would say "mmmmmmm" thinking he was getting something yummy. I am not sure of the order of all the other gifts but there was a rose bowl duck shirt, duck pj's a duck blanket, several books, a phonics bus with frogs, whoppers, and an Oregon duck call, I feel like I'm forgetting something but i guess thats what i get for slacking and not posting until now. anyway It was a very neat idea and Lucas loved every second of it!

That was the title of the news paper article that was in the hutch news paper along with a photo of Lucas and myself visiting with Santa. Our neighbor dresses up every year and sits out side every night passing out candy canes to kids as they come by to look at the lights. I did not realize it was the news when i went down to say hello, but anyway thats what came of it. I was recognized all over town with Lucas that day ... that there tells me i live in way to small of a town!

One thing that Lucas loves to do is dance. and while aunt Taylor and uncle John were out Taylor discovered that Lucas dances just like this one dance called the "thizzle" I had not ever heard the song and I did not post the video due to content, how ever if you want to look it up you can find it in youtube under thizzle. I had told Taylor, even thought I don't really go out dancing anymore If i did go I'd have to be careful not to just go bust out Lucas's moves. At least now I know if i do it's a west coast dance and it has a name so it's all good .... right??

The Potty

No pictures but i wanted to post that today at 6:45 Lucas peed in his potty chair!!! We have had it out for a couple weeks and he sits on it clothed everytime i use the restroom, and right before bath he sits on the potty chair nakey to get him used to it. I wasn't planning to really start trying to teach him until after my sis and john leave but i wanted to give him time to get used to the chair. I never thought he would go on his own with a no pressure technique. So Proud of him!!! We'll see what happens now i may have to adjust my plan a lil!

Holiday Parade

Fall Fun

It's been an unusual fall out here in Kansas. the weather has been nice sunny and in the 70's. so we've had some time to get out and play. These are just a few shots of Lucas enjoying the leaves. He thinks it's great fun to stomp on them and listen to them crackle.

also having nothing to do with Lucas at all, Hugo got attacked by some sort or I'm assuming wasp and his whole face swelled up. I cannot resist putting the pic's up. Trust me at the moment this was no laughing matter, the pictures don't even show how bad it really has. but this not being his first run in with wasps i knew what to do and he was back to normal by the next day. and now that he is fine i find the pictures to be quite amusing.

Daddy's Train Show

Greg put together a big train show in Wichita this year. We didn't really know what it was he was putting his time into until Lucas and I wasn't to go see it all. It was quite a show! It was a big building and just filled with track and trains. Lucas loved it and was saying "choo chooo" through the whole thing. I am posting this a little late but the date is correct on here. How ever i can tell you since this show he picks trains out of everything he loves them and always says "choo choo" when he sees one. I think daddy is going to have some fun when Lucas gets a little older. I just hope i can keep my kitchen train free!

Lions and Tigers and ..... Monkeys ????

We had a great Halloween!
We started it off by taking a few pic's of our lil monkey at our house. We couldn't resist putting his duck jersey on even though it didn't really go with it at all. it was game day and it was a big game so we couldn't mess with that. So he was an Oregon monkey!

Then we met up with some of our friends who's lil guy is a couple months older then Lucas. He was dressed up as mickey mouse. and we all went to the Hutchinson zoo to trick or treat. We took Lucas in his wagon, and i dressed it up a bit for the occasion. i put some green fabric over the top and cut it a lil to somewhat look like leaves, and he was equipped with bananas and a few other monkey stuffed animals to keep him company. I swear the whole town was at the zoo. It was packed! We had a good time cruzin through. Lucas attracted a lot of attention, he even got his picture taken for the radio stations web page.

After the zoo we headed to get some pizza and bananas! we went back home and ate our dinner, then headed out to trick or treat the neighborhood.

We got done about 8:30 and Lucas was in a great mood the whole time. It was a long day for him and he was a trooper. Lucas headed off to bed and then Greg and i watched the Ducks stomp USC. it doesn't get much better! We just had so much fun taking our lil guy out and about. he was so funny doing his monkey noise all day. and watching his reflection in what ever he could find it in.

Grandpa George and Uncle Grant Came To See Us!!!

Grandpa George and Uncle Grant came and stayed with us for a week! Lucas was lovin the extra attention. He got to sit on grandpas lap in the morning and eat all of grandpas bananas, and he loved cuddling uncle grant on the couch in the morning and was giving all kinds of kisses. Grandpa took him out side to play in the yard all the time, he had a great time running all over the place. We went to a car show here in town, it was nice, there were a lot of cars for such a small town. Grandpa took us out to dinner and we enjoyed walking downtown. Also while they were here grandpa and grant put in a new sink for us! no more yellow sink! We had a great time visiting with them, and were sad to see them go.

State Fair

We all went to the Kansas state fair tonight. It was lots of fun and Lucas enjoyed all the people watching and fair food. He got to try a lil bit of everything. Well not everythnig but trust me he got to taste plenty. We all went on the little train that goes around the fair together. It was fun. I was hoping Lucas could go no something but you have to be 36 inches even for the kiddie rides. I ofcourse forgot to get my camera out except for as we were leaving so sorry thats all I've got.

A day at the park

Lucas is up and walking! he was doing pretty good yesterday taking about 5 steps at a time, then today while Greg was watching him he walked from the fridge to the cabinets. it's probably about 5 steps too but this time we weren't there to encourage him to do it. so he did that a few more times so i decided we should work with him some more since he was in the mood to walk. We sat down and had him go between us a few more times. after this we had to show some family on skype, by the time he had shown off a few times he was just cruising around the basement. one time Greg was about to grab him to turn him away from the fireplace and before he could get to him Lucas just turned around and went the other way. he walked in a few circles even ... he was just going and going and going, so 35 minutes after his normal bedtime we finally called it quits and he was out like a light! I'm sure he's dreaming of all the places he will walk to tomorrow!

Things are changing so fast now ...

Today Lucas was practicing walking back and forth between daddy and my self and several times made it all the way (about 5 steps each way) he was very proud of him self as were mommy and daddy! I am trying to get a decent video of this but it's hard because i want to see him too so i end up cutting part of him out of the video while I'm paying attention to him and not the camera. It is so amazing how quickly things are changing these days.

I don't think i mentioned he got his upper left molar partially in while we were in Eugene and since we've gotten home i can see the bottom two molars coming through. they are about to break the skin so i am sure he is in some pain. He is handling it like a champ though, just a little bit of whimpering in his sleep.

The last note i wanted to add was that i have been teaching Lucas what a monkey says. and he also eats bananas for breakfast so i always tell him "monkeys eat bananas, what does a monkey say" and the other morning when he saw me coming towards him with his banana he started making the monkey noise 'ooh oooh ooh' it was pretty cute needless to say. I am trying to get that on video as well but he just does the cutesdt stuff all the time i'd have to have the thing out all day.

Lucas climbed up on the love seat this morning! Pearl and Hugo were laying on it and i guess he decided he wanted to be with them. It was pretty crazy to see him up there. And just when i thought i had the downstairs child proofed .... yikes!

Also he has figured out how to go down the stairs. He's been going up them for a long time but now he's got the down part too. He climbs down feet first on his belly. he's still pretty unstable going down but going up is a breeze. of course i am right there to catch no matter which way he is going. It's pretty cute to see him turn around to go down the stairs because sometimes he miss judges how far he is from the stairs and scoots backwards for quite a while. it cracks me up! I'll try to get it on video.

12 month check up

Lucas had his 12 month check up and shots today. I know it's a little late i usually do it right on the date but since we were in Oregon i didn't schedule the app until after we got back. It all went good, the doctor said he is doing great. He was 30 and a 1/4 inches tall, 80th percentile. 26 lbs and 11 oz. which puts him in the 92nd percentile for that. He was also in the 92nd percentile for his head size. They gave him 4 shots, it was pretty hard on him. I had to hold his hands while they did it, poor lil guy I felt so bad knowing he doesn't understand why I was letting someone hurt him. He stopped crying as soon as i picked him up, and fell asleep on the way home. I'm sure it took a lot out of him. Hopefully I can make the rest of his day a lot better.

Lucas Got two birthday parties this year since we were in Oregon close enough to celebrate. but when we got home we threw a party on his actual birthday. We went to the coast on June 30th for a couple nights, Taylor came with us the first night then John and hannah came up for the second night. We went out on the beach but the wind was pretty cold so we didn't stay long. Lucas loved the sand and really watched the waves. we had a good time going through old town and of course Taylor and i traded shifts with lucas so we could do a lil gambling.

One of the reasons we went to Oregon when we did was to see my sister graduate from the university of Oregon. My dad and barb threw a huge party for her and Lucas was such a champ all dressed up in his Oregon gear to support his second favorite lady in the world. of course me being number 1 (for now). We are so proud of Taylor for accomplishing everything she has! Congrats again miss aunty tay tay! Lucas didn't want to fall asleep but he finally did several hours after nap time on my aunt marilyns shoulder. Uncle John also graduated that day from U of O and Uncle Grant from oregon State. Congrats all Grads!

I am so happy to say that my dad and barb got married! Lucas and I were there to see it all. it was such a nice day and a beautiful ceremony.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great memorial day weekend. We started our day out happy as can be playing and Lucas did a lil lovin on the dish washer. He loves that thing.

Then we went to the zoo in Salina, had lunch and wen to Kohls to do some shopping.

The next morning Lucas played with his puppies! He sure does love them!

Then later that day Lucas got to play in his new pool. When we first put him in he crawled out in a hurry! It was pretty funny. we warmed the water but it must have still been cold on him. But he loved it after that.

then to top it off We had Lasagna for dinner which is one of Lucas's favorites! Over all it was a great weekend and We all had a great time spending time together.

This is just a short video of the torture pearl and hugo put up with every day. They are so good to Lucas. Well today pearl and hugo were playing with a bone and just minding there own business when Lucas decided he wanted the bone. He had taken it a few times before this video but i just thought to grab it. after he stole it from them he proceeded to head up the stairs with it. Sometimes when pearl is laying on her side Lucas will climb on her and bounce around. she seems to love every minute of it. The pups truly love him!

10 months!!

Well I was thinking before i started writing this that there wasn't much to tell everyone because he hasn't changed that much. but when i went back and read his 9 month post i can see that i must not have been thinking very much, lol. Lucas Is still doing great! he is one happy healthy boy. He puts him self in a sitting position from laying down and crawls on his hands and knees too, he still prefers the army crawl when he is tired though. The stairs are basically no big deal to hi m now he just fly's up them. and he pulls him self up to a stand on everything with ease. His new thing that i love is blowing kisses. it's not always perfect but it is still just the sweetest thing. We are both very excited to be going back to oregon here in a couple weeks, so we have been preparing for that. I'm getting all the stuff ready to celebrate his first birthday while we are there. Man does time fly!

This morning i found Lucas standing up in his crib. he has been standing in the tub but that was all he really tried for, well after i got him up and fed him breakfast he was just on a roll standing all over the place. So i guess I'm in trouble now!

Lucas has started smiling for the camera now. We've tried to trick him with cell phones or anything else we can get our hands on but he knows when it's the camera. anyway he's got this new smile that cracks me up. Lucas is 9 months today. he is doing great but his mouth is sore, he is still teething!!! I thought after the eighth tooth we would get a break for a bit. Other than the fussiness from that things are good. He had his 9 mo. check up two days ago and he is still in the 97th percentile all the way around. Lucas measured in at 25lbs 2oz and 30 1/4 inches tall. The doctor was impressed with how much he was talking. He has pretty much given up baby food, he wants to feed him self so he eats a lot of fruits, veggies, and chicken. He has even eaten of the kids menu at a couple restaurants. he is very mobile now and can even get up the bottom step of our stairs. He loves his dogs very much and is constantly slapping the floor and calling to them "do, dog dog" along with dog, lucas can also say mama, dada, kick, and has now successfully said tater (for aunt taylor) 3 times. He is a big time lover, he just loves giving hugs. Pretty much every time i go out to eat with him the waitresses want to hold him. and lucas just soaks it up hugging and cooing away.

Mastering the Army Crawl

Lucas has been working on the army crawl for a while now but it was yesterday that i think he perfected it and now he is all over the place. oh boy I'm gonna have my work cut out for me! I can't remember if i wrote about his first words being kick kick kick ... But they are. It sounds pretty good and you can tell he is connecting the words with his actions. next up was mama and he tries really hard to say that one. he has to get his mouth moving a few times ahead of saying mama. it's pretty cute. ha is also learning daddy and puppy. I'm sure it won't be too much longer now.

Lucas has had a cold the last couple of days but he has been doing ok, just not sleeping that well and has a hard time eating since his nose is stuffy. how ever he held nothing back at bath time. I've never seen him this excited about splashing. I got the camera a little late because right before he was just cracking up and splashing away. This video is still cute but man i've got to start keeping my camera closer!

8 Months!

Lucas is 8 months today, I can't believe it! He is getting so big. He can get where he wants to go pretty well between rolling and scooting on his tummy. I think he is almost ready to crawl. He can stand for a long time with just something to balance himself, and he loves to do it. His two top teeth are through and there are two more on the way probably in a couple days they will be through too. He is eating pieces of banana and pineapple in the morning and afternoon. And tries all kinds of new foods everyday.

We took Lucas to a circus out in Lyons Ks. It was a very small family circus with no animals but there were a lot of good performers. He actually watched a lot of it, but it was later in the evening so he took nap through some too. We had a good time but they didn't allow photos so sorry no pictures of the circus. Also Greg installed the bigger car seat today so he had his first ride in that and did well. it's so different taking him in and out instead of grabbing the whole seat. We went grocery shopping today and ... no seat for him to ride in, but walmart has these carts with baby seats on them so we did that.

Today Marah and Huck, Brandi and Brooklyn, and Lucas and I all went down town Hutchinson and looked through some of the shops. Then we all came back to our house and had lunch and let the kids play. I didn't get any video of Huck on here unfortunately but Lucas and Brooklyn really hit it off and with this being his first good girl encounter i had to record a little bit of it. the videos are short but they were really cute playing together.

Lucas is 7 months today. I can't believe it. But I've probably said that at every month marker. He is doing great. I think he is getting his top teeth in because we've had a couple nights of not as much sleep and he is biting a lot more. We are still taking him swimming a couple times a week and he is loving it. He kicks now and swims with both arms sometimes. Only the first photo is from his 7 month birthday, i couldn't get a smile out of the kid for nothing. Plus i just posted a ton the other day. i am putting up a couple from lucas and hucks second play date which was a couple days ago.

Today Lucas and i went out to Nickerson to meet Huck and his mommy Marah. The boys had a good time playing and Marah and i had a lot to talk about. Huck was born 6 days before Lucas and they both weigh about the same so they are very compatible lil boys. We started the play date off by introducing them at Marah and Huck's house then we went to the Hutchinson Zoo and finished the date off at a park where the boys were able to swing for a while. They both crashed in the car on the way home.

Boot Camp

I've been working with Lucas on rolling over for the past week a lot. I've been calling it "roll over boot camp". Well it's paid off. He is rolling all the time now. in fact in the time i've been sitting here typing this up he has rolled across the living room. One of the videos here he rolls over from front to back then back to front and the other he is just being cute. Sorry they are kind of long but I just can't get over how cute he is!

Lucas attended his first play group today. I don't have any pictures because i didn't want to be that crazy mom with the camera. but I'll sneak some in at a later date. He played with a little girl who was 9 months old. They played well together. but spent the first probably 15 minutes just staring at each other. It was pretty cute. I was pretty surprised with how well he shared.

Swimming Like a Champ

The title and video's say it all, I will just add he has been loving the water. We take him a couple times a week and swim for 45 min or so. he figured out to move his arm by the third time in the water. yesterday we dunked him and he did hold his breath ... we didn't tape that part. it was so hard to stick him underwater. but he handled it well. Swimming lessons for babies start in march and we plan to attend.

Lucas went in for his 6 month check up today and it went just fine. he is still up in the 97th percentile. the doc's must have had some errors measuring him though because his height was off. so no big deal. he weighed 22 lbs and 13 oz. and his head measured at 18 inches. We didn't do much just hung out, took a few pic's and had the app. I just can't believe he is already 6 months old!

We've got our second tooth! It's showed it's self right next to the first one on the bottom row. Still no pictures. He is handling it very well. getting up a few times at night but nothing to major. I can't wait to see his toothy smile!

Well i don't usually let Lucas play with his food, but this was his first time in his new high chair so i couldn't resist letting him goof a little. he really enjoyed holding his own spoon. how ever the peas in his eyes not so much. anyway it was a fun evening and made for some good pictures. I had to post them all cause i couldn't narrow it down i just loved them all.

We took Lucas to the YMCA today to go for a swim. He did very well in the water and seemed to really enjoy him self. We were the only people in the pool. we were all over the place swimming and swimming. Unfortunately our camera didn't want to take pictures with the lighting in there so these photos are pretty bad. But you can get the idea. after swimming for about 30 min we came home and Lucas had his lunch time bottle and fell asleep while i was burping him, he was worn out! We are going to try to take him every weekend to swim so maybe there will be some better photos later.

I Found a Tooth!!

I found what i thought was Lucas's first tooth yesterday and it was confirmed this morning! He has the start of his lower left tooth sticking out of his gums. I thought he had been a little grumpy but i figred it was from our recent traveling. I'm assuming now it must be the tooth. He has been haddeling it pretty well so far. When it is sticking out far enough to see with a camera i will post a picture.

Lucas is doing great! We just got home from our 3 week visit in Eugene On the 30th and spent new years at home relaxing. Lucas rolled over for the first time on the 31st and did it again today. I'm glad that milestone has passed! Now we just have to keep working on it. He has eaten Sweet potatoes, bananas, carrots, squash, apple sauce, and peas. He didn't like the bananas or apples so we'll see if he changes his mind later. His dexterity has gotten so good, he is able to pick things up when he wants them and get them directly to his mouth which is always where they go first. He loves his puppies and tries to "pet" them when ever he can. I can't believe ho fast this year has gone by, it's been an amazing one and I'm so thankful that Lucas is part of my life.

Christmas 2008

We spent Christmas in Eugene this year which was such a blessing. I am so happy that we were able to make this happen. It was so nice being with everyone for the holidays. Lucas was such a good boy all day on Christmas he only took one nap and didn't fuss much at all. It was a very busy day for us. We started on Christmas eve eve, by going to George and Linda's house to stay the night. we had dinner with them and slept there. Christmas eve is Linda's birthday so we went to lunch with them and then came back and did Christmas presents with all of our family there. Lucas's great grandparents ralph and betty were able to make it to stay the niught too. I forgot my camera so no pictures from there, but we had a nice time. Lucas enjoyed all the love and attention and also the kisses from uncle grants dog nash. Then that evening we went back to my dads house and played cards. The next morning .... Christmas, we got up and did our gifts there, with my dad, barb, Grandma and grandpa williams, michael, taylor, john, greg, lucas, and myself. Lucas got all kinds of goodies from everyone. When we were finished there we went to cottage grove to my uncle clent and aunt cheri's house to do christmas with all of our family there. Then we went to my grandmas house back in eugene to do christmas with family there, then last we went to taylor and john's house to do christmas with family there. Lucas has a lot of great family and got to spend a whoile day seeing almost everyone of them! it was a long but great day.

Lucas is 5 months now! He is getting so big so fast! He is sitting up pretty well, and talking like crazy. he has also recently started a giggle that is amazingly cute. We left for Eugene on December 10th so lucas s0ent his 5 months birthday with his grandpa mark, Aunt Taylor and myself. His grandpa bought him his stylin polo outfit for the photos.

Lucas, is sitting up now with out squishing his stomach as much. He likes to be sitting up vs. laying down. So still no rolling over I know he has the strength to do it it just hasn't happened yet. 20 Weeks!!!

When i realized it was a 20 week marker today I kept thinking why does that sound familiar... then it hit me. 20 weeks was half way through my pregnancy, so Lucas has now been in our lives for half the amount of time i was pregnant. I remember 20 weeks was a big deal to hit when i was pregnant, as far as health for the baby and just being half way to having a baby in your life. Also it was right around this time that we found out Lucas was ... well Lucas, we had our ultrasound to find out the sex and named him. This is the point in the pregnancy it became very real to me. i could no longer call him "the fetus" it was a baby to me now and he had a name! At 20 weeks Lucas is doing great! He is a very happy baby, and is really talking a lot now. He loves to tell us stories! He is eating oatmeal in the morning, and sweet potatoes in the evening and doing great with both. We have been putting him in the jumparoo to work his leg muscles and he's figured out that it's pretty fun. I try to do tummy time with him, how ever he is still not that fond of laying on his stomach so no rolling over yet. he does enjoy sitting up (with my help) alot so i think that will probably come first for him. Also He loves music, I can sing pretty much anything and bring him to a smile, but his favorites right now are skittlemarink (i'm sure thats not how you spell that) and baby balooga which i have changes to baby balucas. there are hand motions to both songs so i hold his hands and help him through it and he loves it.

Thanksgiving week 2008

This week we had a few things happen ... I started making baby food, ( sweet potatoes). Lucas got a little taste and liked them a lot but I'm going to try to wait a little longer until we give them to him full time. We took Lucas to Kobe's steak house which is a resturaunt where they cook in front of you and do tricks. Lucas was pretty interested in watching the guy however he let out a cry that everyone in the restaurant heard when the chef lit the grill ... i felt bad for lucas, but he calmed down pretty quick. We borrowed a jumparoo from Kristi and have been getting Lucas acquainted with that. He is a little small for it but he actually does very well with it. Kelly came to see us for the week, so we all went and did a few things around town. We went to the cosomosphere, the hutch zoo, did a little bit of shopping and had a great thanksgiving. We are all getting excited to see everyone in oregon for the holidays. I cna't believe it's only 11 days away. I'm sure we will have a busy week ahead of us getting ready to go.

Lucas had his 4 month check up today, it went well. The doctor said he is a healthy strong boy, shook my hand and told me congratulations. He weighed 19lbs 6oz. and was 27 inches long. so he is in the 97th percentile on weight and height. His head was 17 1/2 inches and he passed all the physical tests they did to him. They also gave him three shots which he was not to happy about but he only screamed when she was doing them and he stopped right after she was done! what a strong boy! The only thing we need to work on is getting him to role over, the doc said he would probably be a little late on that because he is so big. But over all he had a good check up.

Halloween

Lucas got dressed up as a ghost for Halloween. We wanted to find a monkey costume but never found a good one that woudl fit him so e went pretty basic with this white ghost onsie. Greg was out fo town for the weekend finally getting to have a little fun with his friends so Lucas and I went trick or treating with our friends Tina, Jay and Harrison. It was fun walking around the neighborhood with him, although he got very heavy after a while. I thought I would carry him instead of bringing the stroller.... not a good idea!

Rice Cereal

We've started giving Lucas rice cereal now! He likes it and does pretty well with it how ever we will need to start giving it to him before he gets really hungry because he gets pretty frustrated and just wants his bottle.

We barely made it back to Hutchinson before Lucas turned 3 months old. He is now starting to laugh a little bit and really trying to figure out how to make all those neat noises everyone else makes with there mouths. He us usually full of smiles how ever when we got the camera out he clammed up a bit. He sleeps through most nights now eating a bottle around 9pm and again between 3:30 and 5:30am which works good for us because it matches Greg's schedule. He is also up a lot more during the day and woudl like to be entertained. It's great fun for both of us but it has gotten increasingly harder to get things done around the house.

Florence

John, Taylor, Lucas and i all went to Florence for the day. It was a nice sunny day but the wind was still very cold. We took Lucas all the way out to the ocean and quickly explained to him why the ocean was so neat, took a few pictures and got back to the car pretty fast. then we went to mo's for lunch. Lucas was unable to enjoy the seafood but he seemed to have a good time anyway.

Lucas has really started trying to talk now. It's pretty crazy really. In this video he is just mumbling along but at the end i ask him to say i love you and he makes some noises that sound a lot like i love you. When we talk to him you can tell he is studying our mouths.

We made a couple trips to cottage grove while we were in town. Lucas was pretty tired from being passed around but he did pretty well considering his whole schedule was out of wack. Everyone loved him very much. Aunt karen had a cold so she insisted she woudl wear a mask so she wouldn't get Lucas sick. I missed a alot of the family for photos ... I'll have to get tehm next time.

Well the real reason everyone got to see us before Christmas out there in Oregon was due to My grandma Teresa's back surgery. They had planned to come see us on there way to Arizona but since my grandma had to have the surgery she was not going to be able to see Lucas for a long time. This was hard on her so we decided to surprise them with a visit. Grandpa played the harmonica for Lucas and he also enjoyed watching grandma do her laps around the room. Lucas had recently started smiling before our trip to Eugene so everyone got to see his happy little grins.

We went back to Eugene September 24th for a visit. Taylor was here then so Lucas and I flew back with her and home by our self's. He did very good on the trip. Not a whole lot of crying during the flight, he got a little upset for take off but over all he was a breeze to fly with.

While aunt Taylor was in town we went to the Wichita zoo. Lucas was awake for a lot of the trip I don't know how many of the animals he actually saw but it was really fun taking him. He was pretty alert so i think he enjoyed it just as much as we did.

Lucas is a huge Duck fan!!! Every Saturday he gets to wear his Oregon gear and watch the game with mom and dad! I know it may sound silly but he actually watches the games pretty closely. Grandpa Mark and Barb sent us the Oregon onsies. He has three of them and boy do they get worn!

Taylor was able to come back to town for 3 weeks right around lucas's 2 month birthday. so she took all kinds of photos for his two month shoot. At 2 months lucas weighed 14 lbs 2 oz and was 23 1/2 inches long his head was 16 1/4 inches... man he is one big boy!

We were so surprised when we picked Taylor up at the airport when we found out they had tricked us and John got to come too! What a great surprise! Lucas loved his uncle John and he was so great with Lucas. One day he watched Lucas while Taylor and I went to the mall. Lucas even slept down stairs with them a couple nights.

We didn't know how Pearl and Hugo would do with Lucas but we weren't to worried I figured they would love him and boy do they ever. I have to keep them away so they don't lay on top of him or lick him to death. I'm sure as Lucas grows there bond will grow as well. Over all they do great though they are always keeping an eye on him for me and they are the first ones to the scene if there is any crying.

At Lucas's one month birthday he was still a big boy. He weighed in at 10 lbs 11 oz and was 22 3/4 inches long. his head was 15 1/2 inches. The doctor always tells us what a good strong and healthy boy he is.

After my dad and sister left we got to see gregs mom linda. She was so happy to be able to see lucas and we were happy to have her. she helped out a lot with lucas and had dinner made for us pretty much every night.
